Compare Hyundai Sonata to the Honda Accord

The Hyundai Sonata Versus the Competition

Classic, traditional sedans never go out of style. Cavernous, secure truck space and roomy interior make the sophisticated sedan a go-to for families and professionals. Here at Taylor Hyundai of Findlay, when our customers stop in looking for a sedan that's loaded with features and high-quality materials, we always show them our Hyundai Sonata.

We think very highly of the Sonata sedan around here, and happily tell all of our customers about the traits and characteristics that make it stand out in any comparison. For example, when we've put our Sonata up against the similar-but-different Honda Accord sedan, we discovered a number of areas where the Hyundai models comes out well ahead of the competition.

The Hyundai Sonata vs. the Honda Accord Sedan

You, and your passengers, will find more room to stretch out in with a Hyundai Sonata than you would in the Honda Accord. The Sonata offers up more headroom and legroom in the front seat, and also has a greater amount of headroom for backseat passengers.

Love the style and comfort of the original Hyundai Sonata sedan, but interested in spending less money on gas, and reducing your vehicle emissions? Great news, both of these models offer a version that comes with a fuel-efficient hybrid engine. But, only the Hyundai Sonata also offers you the option of a plug-in hybrid model. With this type of hybrid,  you can earn an even better fuel economy and go long distances on just electric power alone. The Honda Accord does not currently offer a plug-in hybrid option and hasn't had one available since 2014.

If you prefer the original, gas-powered versions of these two sedans, you'll be able to travel further on a tank of gas in the Hyundai than you would in the Honda. The Hyundai fuel capacity is 18.5 gallons, compared to 14.8 gallons in the Accord, which means you won't have to stop to fill up as often. Plus, the Hyundai has a greater range than the Honda, with an average of 518 miles in the city, and 685 miles on the highway per tank of gas for the Sonata. The Honda averages 444 miles in the city and 562 miles on the highway per fill up.
